Position: Open Rank Endowed Chair - Ecology, Tenure Track
Qualifications: Ph.D. in any of the Biological Sciences, with expertise in some aspect of ecology, is required. Expertise in evolutionary biology, systematics, or biostatistics preferred. Post-doctoral experience preferred. The successful candidate must have demonstrated an interest in and an aptitude for teaching undergraduates.
Position Description: Primary responsibilities to teach an introductory and an upper-level course for biology majors; teach a course in the University's liberal arts core curriculum and/or first-year experience; and develop a research program involving undergraduates. Additional expectations include academic advisement, service to the university, and continued professional development. The John C. Hicks Endowed Chair will receive a 25% reduction in teaching assignments each semester in order to promote and facilitate student research activity in the Department. Departmental funds are available in support of this role.
